Title: Modern Web Application Solution Architect
- Define end-to-end solution architecture for modern enterprise web applications.
- Translate business, functional, and non-functional requirements into practical application architectures and technical designs.
- Define application boundaries, components, services, APIs, integrations, data flows, and runtime/deployment architectures.
- Select appropriate architectural patterns based on application requirements, enterprise standards, and delivery constraints.
- Develop architecture artifacts including solution diagrams, component models, deployment views, integration designs, sequence diagrams, and Architecture Decision Records (ADRs).
- Evaluate architectural alternatives and clearly communicate technical decisions, trade-offs, risks, and dependencies.
- Define patterns for client-side rendering, server-side rendering, static generation, backend-for-frontend (BFF), and other modern web approaches where appropriate.
- Guide modular application design and appropriate use of component-based architectures, micro-frontends, microservices, and modular monolith patterns.
- Establish patterns for state management, session management, caching, content delivery, and web performance optimization.
- Guide teams on maintainability, reuse, dependency management, framework lifecycle, and technology currency.
- Define API architecture and integration patterns using REST, GraphQL, asynchronous messaging, and event-driven approaches as appropriate.
- Establish patterns for API versioning, error handling, security, observability, resiliency, and lifecycle management.
- Guide integration with enterprise services, systems of record, identity platforms, data services, and external systems.
- Ensure application designs appropriately address latency, failure handling, retry behavior, timeouts, circuit breaking, and other distributed-system concerns.
Cloud-Native, Security & Reliability
- Design applications for containerized and cloud-native runtime environments, including Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift.
- Guide containerization, configuration, secrets, resource management, health checks, autoscaling, ingress/routing, and deployment considerations.
- Incorporate security throughout application architecture, including authentication, authorization, identity integration, encryption, API security, secrets management, and secure development practices.
- Define non-functional requirements for availability, scalability, performance, resiliency, recoverability, and maintainability.
- Design applications with appropriate fault tolerance, graceful degradation, failure isolation, and recovery patterns.
Observability & Architecture Leadership:
- Define application observability requirements covering logs, metrics, traces, dashboards, monitoring, and alerting.
- Participate in production-readiness and architecture reviews for critical applications.
- Lead architecture and technical design reviews throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
- Collaborate with enterprise architects, application teams, security, DevSecOps, infrastructure, data, and integration organizations.
- Identify reusable architecture patterns and opportunities to standardize common application capabilities.
- Support application modernization assessments, target-state architectures, transition roadmaps, reference architectures, and technical guardrails.
