Summary
The Web and Intranet Specialist is responsible for the development, maintenance, and optimization of internal and external web platforms, including a SharePoint Online-based intranet, firm website, WordPress blog network, and several ancillary web properties. This role combines expertise in user experience design, web technologies, accessibility, and analytics with hands-on experience managing content, site architecture, and permissions across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and skilled in supporting both end users and technical infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Discovery365 (SharePoint Online Intranet)
- Handle day-to-day content updates, support requests, and troubleshooting.
- Create and configure sites using Powell Manager.
- Manage site navigation, permissions, and user roles.
- Configure web parts and customize layouts.
- Train contributors and liaise with Powell Intranet support.
- Document procedures and manage site lifecycle and archiving.
DuaneMorris.com (Firm Website)
- Translate graphic designs into responsive HTML/CSS layouts.
- Maintain accessibility standards and conduct remediation audits.
- Troubleshoot front-end design and CSS issues.
Blogs.DuaneMorris.com (WordPress Multisite)
- Maintain and update WordPress Multisite environment hosted on WPEngine.
- Create new blogs and manage user roles and permissions.
- Research, test, and deploy plugins and themes (including custom child themes).
- Ensure proper backups and restoration processes.
Ancillary & Foundation Websites
- Maintain static websites hosted on AWS using S3, CloudFront, Route 53, and Certificate Manager.
- Ensure sites meet accessibility standards and are optimized for performance.
- Implement tracking and analytics via Google Analytics and Tag Manager.
Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Experience with SharePoint Online architecture, Powell Manager, and content configuration.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Teams, OneDrive, Power Platform).
- Understanding of WordPress Multisite structure, plugin management, and theme customization.
- Ability to configure and manage static websites using Amazon Web Services (S3, CloudFront, Route 53).
- Knowledge of Google Analytics, GoogleTag Manager, and OneTrust.
Design & Accessibility
- Solid grasp of UX/UI principles and responsive design.
- Experience with Web Accessibility Standards and remediation techniques.
- Ability to train users, document processes, and support content contributors.
- Skilled in troubleshooting front-end and site configuration issues.
- Familiar with SharePoint permission levels and Microsoft Entra ID.
- Basic knowledge of Power Automate.
- Familiarity with SharePoint Framework (SPFx) is a plus but not required.
