Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

To provide hands on support for the installation of energy conservation measures and other home repairs for the Weatherization Assistance Program and other energy related programs within Monroe County and surrounding areas.

Requirements (Education, Experience, Certification, Knowledge, Skill):

Position requires a High School Diploma or GED plus one or more years of experience or 2 or more years of relevant training and experience in home construction, remodeling/repair, energy conservation or HVAC systems.

Position Responsibilities:

After receiving training, this position will:

• Understand building systems and have the ability to evaluate problems and suggest repairs.
• Be fully knowledgeable about energy conservation and building products, their installation and energy conservation methods.
• Be fully knowledgeable of the Weatherization Assistance Program and other housing rehabilitation program guidelines and procedures.
• Evaluate work scope and prepare work areas as needed.
• Handle and properly install energy conservation product and materials per the manufacturer’s and program specifications.
• Operate power and manual hand tools along with other diagnostic equipment such as the Blower Door, Combustion Analyzer and other related equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of time and materials installed in each unit and other program related records as assigned.
• Attend work related conferences, seminars and training sessions.

Working Conditions/Environment:

• Daily driving is required
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, operate power and manual tools, work with potentially hazardous materials (with proper protective equipment)

Transportation Requirement:

Position requires automobile, driver’s license and insurance.
