Job summary

Zipline is seeking a Weather Intelligence lead to define and enforce environmental limits for safe aircraft operations. You will own the automated weather decision system, collaborating across meteorology, software, flight operations, and safety to ensure continuous, defensible go/no-go decisions across global missions.

You will lead a small cross‑functional team, drive validation with simulations and live operations, and shape the roadmap for sensing, data ingestion, and runtime decision

Qualifications

• 6+ years shipping mission-critical decision systems.
• Fluency in scientific Python (Pandas, NumPy, Xarray, NetCDF) and time-series tooling.
• Experience with production stacks: Kubernetes, AWS, Rust/C++ codebases.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end development and operational performance of the automated weather intelligence system for go/no-go decisions.
• Translate meteorological uncertainty into deterministic operational limits and encode into decision logic.
• Define and measure success with metrics like uptime, throughput, and risk reduction; deliver improvements in the first year.
