Job summary

Covenant Transport, Inc. is seeking a Weather Coordinator to gather weather information from drivers on icy conditions, update alerts during shifts, and provide timely weather routing information to Operations.

You will document incidents, complete Weather KPI reports each shift, and proactively communicate to drivers in areas of adverse conditions with the latest information. Education includes a High School Diploma or equivalent, with an Associate degree or higher preferred; strong

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Gather weather information from drivers on icy conditions and update alerts.
• Update weather alerts during each shift and adjust with updated road information.

• Proactively communicate to drivers in areas of adverse road conditions with latest information.
• Document Incidents of drivers running through shutdowns and attempting to stop safely.
• Provide weather routing information to Operations and Professional Drivers in a timely manner.
• Complete reports assigned by Weather & SRG Manager or Senior Weather Coordinator.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Gather weather information from drivers on icy conditions, and follow up within Weather Desk procedures.


• Update weather alerts during each shift and adjust with updated road condition information.


• Complete Weather KPI report each shift.


• Proactively communicate to drivers in areas of potentially adverse road conditions, communicating latest information.


• Document Incidents of drivers running through shutdowns and attempting to get trucks stopped in a safe location.


• Provide weather routing information to Operations and Professional Drivers in a timely manner.


• Complete reports assigned by Weather & SRG Manager or Senior Weather Coordinator.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.


• Ability to work independently with little supervision and/or in a team environment.


• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Office 365).


• Ability to read maps and U.S. Geographical skills.


• Ability to learn applicable software for weather monitoring and driver communication tools.

Education/Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.


• Associate degree or higher preferred.

The posted range reflects the full pay band for the position. The expected pay range below represents where most candidates are hired, based on experience, skills, and internal equity. Candidates with more extensive or highly relevant experience may be considered toward the higher end of the overall pay band.
Expected Pay Range: $14.44-$15.36
Full Pay Range: $14.44-$20.03
