Sesame is building Cypress, a wearable AI hardware device, and seeks a dedicated Hardware Test Automation Engineer to design and own automated test rigs connected to our CI/CD pipeline. You will drive nightly sanity runs, weekly stress tests, and long audio sessions, with dashboards tracking performance and quality.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building hardware/embedded test automation integrated with CI/CD.
• Solid wireless fundamentals: Bluetooth audio, BLE, throughput testing.
• Strong Python scripting and ability to build dashboards from scratch.
• Experience defining test plans, metrics, and pass/fail thresholds from real data.
• Comfort operating in an early-stage, prototype hardware environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own an automated hardware test rig integrated with CI/CD for the Cypress device.
• Implement throughput/bandwidth, connectivity stress tests (iPerf, A2DP/AVRCP), including degraded-connectivity scenarios.
• Build API-level tests covering throughput, sustained load, and crash detection.
• Run long-duration audio session testing and battery/thermal performance characterization.
• Build live performance & stress dashboard with safety thresholds and regression flags.
• Develop diagnostic tooling and support automated bug triage for hardware/firmware issues.
• Provide daily automation summaries and updates; support targeted test runs.
• Partner with firmware and QA to define what is automated vs. manual.
