Job summary

Ixana is building next‑gen wearables and implantables, based at Purdue’s ecosystem in West Lafayette. You will own the product path from concept through schematic, 4‑layer medical PCB, firmware bring‑up, benchtop and in‑vivo tests.

The role requires a PhD in relevant fields (2023–2026) and proven wearable hardware lab or startup experience, plus hands-on PCB tools and low‑power analog design skills. On‑site work five days a week with visa sponsorship and relocation support.

Qualifications

• PhD completed within 2023–2026 in EE, ECE, BME, ME or similar
• Proven wearable or implantable hardware project labs, dissertation or startup experience
• Skills in PCB design tools (Altium/KiCad) and sensors with low-power analog/mixed-signal and embedded software

Responsibilities

• Invent next‑gen wearables & implantables and own hardware path from concept to firmware bring‑up and tests
• Collaborate with IC, RF, mech and clinical teams; publish and patent work
• Design for FDA Class II/III including biocompatibility, hermetic packaging, and ISO13485 documentation

Job description

What you’ll do

• Invent next‑gen wearables & implantables EEG glasses, EMG patches, smart implants around Wi‑R SoCs


• Own the path from concept → schematic → 4‑layer medical PCB → firmware bring‑up → benchtop & in‑vivo tests


• Design for FDA ClassII/III: biocompatibility, hermetic packaging, ISO13485 documentation


• Collaborate daily with IC, RF, mech and clinical teams; publish & patent your work

What we’re looking for

Required:

• PhD completed 2023-2026 in EE, ECE, BME, ME or similar


• Proven wearable or implantable hardware project labs, dissertation or startup


• Skills in PCB Altium/KiCad , sensors, low‑power analog / mixed‑signal, embedded C/C++ or Python


• Able to relocate to WestLafayette and work on‑site 5days/week

Preferred:

• 4‑layer medical PCB layouts, biocompatible materials, FDA / ISO13485 experience


• Publications or patents in flexible electronics, biosensors or neural interfaces

Compensation & benefits

• Base salary $95000-$125000 USD ‑ equivalent to ≈$185k-$240k Bay‑Area purchasing power
