Job summary

SimVentions, Inc. in King George, VA is seeking a Weapon System Test Engineer to support TTWCS software testing across surface, subsurface, and FMS configurations. This on-site role requires presence at both the Dahlgren office and NSWC Dahlgren customer site.

You will join a diverse team of testers and government personnel, performing data analysis, developing test procedures, and verifying fixes while documenting results for technical reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's of science in a science/engineering/math field or military operational experience as TTWCS Operator and Maintenance Technician
• Experience with CBT&E (Capabilities Based Test & Evaluation)
• Experience with automated testing tools and methods
• Experience using Jira to document and track CRs/PRs
• Ability to create test and lab schedules by assigning resources and tasks

Responsibilities

• Conduct testing of tactical weapon systems in lab configurations and across builds.
• Modify and troubleshoot lab hardware, equipment, simulators, and networks.
• Analyze test output and develop data extraction/reduction for verification.
• Document system problems with CRs/PRs and verify software fixes.
• Develop and modify test procedures to verify requirements and functionality.
• Perform peer reviews of test procedures and maintain TVMs.
• Generate test plans and test reports; communicate results in briefs and reviews.

Overview

SimVentions, consistently voted one of Virginia's Best Places to Work, is looking for a Weapon System Test Engineer to join our team in Dahlgren to support testing of the Tactical Tomahawk Weapons Control System (TTWCS) software in various configurations (surface, subsurface, and Foreign Military Sales (FMS)). Candidate will work on a diverse team with fellow SimVentions testers and government personnel. This position requires on-site presence at our office in King George, VA, as well as our customer site at NSWC Dahlgren.

Travel

There are opportunities for travel, but it is not required.

Clearance

An ACTIVE Secret Clearance is required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.

Requirements

Bachelor's of science from an accredited university majoring in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics field of study or military operational experience as a Tactical Tomahawk Weapons Control System Operator and Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

• Conduct testing of tactical weapon systems in various configurations and across multiple builds in a lab setting. Document pertinent information in lab logs
• Modify and troubleshoot lab hardware, equipment, simulators, and network configurations in a dynamic environment
• Perform data analysis of test output; identify and develop data extraction and data reduction elements for test procedures that aid in requirement verification
• Document system problems by creating change requests (CR)/problem reports (PR)
• Verify software fixes for CR/PR resolution
• Develop new test procedures and modify existing test procedures to verify requirements and system functionality
• Conduct peer reviews of test procedures
• Develop and maintain Test Verification Matrices (TVM)
• Generate test plans and test reports
• Communicate testing event summaries verbally and in writing, including the ability to provide technical briefs, defend data analysis, and present at various technical reviews
• Communicate with SimVentions’ management about test initiatives and issues

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Prior US Navy operational experience as an E-4 or above Fire Controlman (FC) or Fire Control Technician (FT) rate possessing the TTWCS Operation and Maintenance Technician NEC (V20A) or equivalent
• Experience with Capabilities Based Test and Evaluation (CBT&E)
• Experience with automated testing tools and methods
• Experience using Jira to document and track CRs/PRs as well as tracking tasks
• Ability to create test and lab schedules through the assignment of both lab resources and personnel to tasks

Education

Bachelor's of science from an accredited university majoring in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics field of study is required for those without operational experience.

Compensation

Compensation at SimVentions is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, skills, knowledge, and competencies, as well as alignment with our corporate compensation plan and contract specific requirements.

The projected annual compensation range for this position is $68,000.00- $90,000.00 (USD). This estimate reflects the standard salary range for this position and is just one component of the total compensation package that SimVentions offers.
