Overview Of The Role

The financial landscape and growing customer preference to do business in the digital channels has been quickly evolving over the past five years with change on multiple fronts, including evolving client needs, market entry of non-traditional competitors and a shifting landscape of emerging technology providers. This has significantly impacted the way we interact with our clients, the products we create and the strategies we deploy. To compete with fast growing entrants that are non-traditional financial services institutions, we are focused on scaling our digital wealth capabilities and modernizing our overall technology stack and infrastructure.

Reporting into the Citi Technology Business Execution Lead and directly supporting the Citi Global Wealth Technology (CGWT) CIO, the CGWT Business Execution Lead (BEL) is responsible to lead executive-level strategic and operational analysis across the global team, driving consistency in communication, cadence and aligning with the overall technology governance. This position is a critical strategic role that will partner closely with the CGWT Leadership Team as well as the other Business and Technology COO Teams, to define a governance and reporting structure for CGWT, aligned to organizational objectives, and tracked through interactive dashboarding capabilities.

The CGWT BEL is a senior technology leader with deep experience in program management, planning, strategy development and operationalization. This leader has exceptional abilities in analysis, critical thinking, communication and influencing, and has a proven track record of working with global teams, aligning stakeholders and thriving in ambiguous situations. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with not only leading and influencing, but also diving into the details and rolling up her/his/their sleeves.

Responsibilities:

The Wealth Technology BEL Team is responsible for driving the strategic priorities of the Wealth Technology organization within Citigroup. Responsibilities include:

  • End to end oversight of the annual financial planning and investment prioritization process in coordination with Wealth front office partners
  • Ensure strong financial controls and discipline through coordination of financial and resource outlook submissions and snapshots
  • Develop and drive productivity and cost savings initiatives in partnership with senior leadership team
  • Establish routines and mechanisms to oversee and govern progress in achieving vision, strategy and simplification goals; inclusive of clearly defined metrics and milestones.
  • Partner with global stakeholders to define targets, operationalize systems and own all metrics and insights for Wealth Technology, including analysis, reporting, actionable insights and broadcasting key operating metrics across the organization.
  • Oversee a team of analysts and strategists who dive deep into the business and technology needs across each major domain, to support governance, metric definition and dashboarding.
  • Ensure a cohesive, integrated, and consistent approach (format, content, cadence) to report progress and showcase milestones to business stakeholders, across all CGWT Leaders.
  • Deliver management reporting and analysis required to senior leadership, regulators, and business stakeholders.
  • Manage key performance indicator (KPI) dashboard including data collection, monitoring, and reporting with driving it proactively across the organization to ensure that they are met.
  • Conduct and incorporate research, insights and competitive analysis as required.
  • Develop approach to drive best-practice sharing and collaboration across regions along defined areas of future growth.
  • Develop an approach to assess the productivity and value impact of new and emerging technologies and develop and lead implementation plans to drive successful adoption of the technologies.
  • Champion an inclusive and diverse global mindset to attract a deep and diverse talent pool within the organization that includes effective coaching and promoting a culture of growth and development.
  • Build credible and trusting relationships with corporate, business, technology, and operations partners.
  • Challenge ineffective or inefficient processes to ensure optimal results of the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Strong financial background with experience in expense management and investment planning
  • 15+ years experience
  • Accomplished change leader, can execute flawlessly in ambiguous and changing environments and demonstrates both a flexible and resilient approach
  • Must possess vision and passion for the transformation of the consumer banking business, with high energy
  • Managerial experience
  • Significant relevant experience driving strategy and execution of digital products, client segments, channel distribution, and customer experience in the retail banking/financial services space
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across multiple stakeholders and organizations – pushes self and colleagues to higher levels of performance by actively listening and engaging in constructive dialogue.
  • Treats people with respect and assumes the intentions of others are based on common purpose and shared goals
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and drive large scale, complex business initiatives –taking initiatives from concept to execution.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with process-oriented execution, with a high attention to detail and quality on both internal team work and external products delivered to the market
  • Strategic, analytical, and systematic thinker who consistently pushes the status quo and constructively challenges the team to drive change and continuous improvement and innovation

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
