Job summary

Edward Jones in the St. Louis area is seeking a Wealth Strategist II to support Financial Advisors and deliver tailored planning for complex client needs.

You will be a subject matter expert across the firm's planning tools and work with branch teams to align goals with client objectives. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or Law required.
  • 7+ years of experience in the financial services industry.
  • Series 7 and 66 required or acquired within 6 months of hire.
  • Insurance license required or acquired within 6 months of hire.
  • CFP designation required or acquired in accordance with firm policy.

Responsibilities

  • Develop goals-based strategies for clients with complex needs using a team approach.
  • Partner with Financial Advisors to strengthen delivery of complex financial plans for high-value clients.
  • Communicate with advisors and clients to understand needs, document goals, and articulate investment strategy.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for complex cases requiring deep technical knowledge.
  • Contribute to firm-wide goals and initiatives to better serve branch teams and clients.
  • Drive department goals and initiatives to better serve clients.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or Law
CFP designation
Series 7 and 66 licensing
Insurance license
CFA designation (advantage)

Team Overview:

Wealth Management and Field Management is responsible for leading the firm in ensuring our clients are on track to meet their financial goals. The Financial Planning and Wealth Strategy Group provides tailored financial strategies to clients by partnering with our branch teams to review and analyze complex client needs and goals through financial planning.

What You Will Do:

Wealth Strategist II leverages the extensive resources of our home office to support our financial advisors in serving their clients with complex needs. This position plays a critical role in serving as the primary point of contact between the two groups. You will be called upon as a financial planning subject matter expert, on the firm's full suite of financial planning tools and how they're leveraged to help clients define their financial goals and identify solutions to keep them on-track. Additionally, you will apply knowledge of financial planning disciplines to unique client circumstances and work directly with branch teams and their clients.

You’ll be joining a team of high-energy associates, with tenure ranging from years to decades, dedicated to personal development, inclusion and diversity, and partnering with financial advisors as part of the client team.

  • Develop Goals based strategies for clients with complex needs using a team approach which require specific technical knowledge in a particular subject matter area.
  • Partner with Financial Advisors to strengthen delivery of complex financial plans for high-value clients and prospects, providing guidance and resources to enhance confidence and create an exceptional client experience.
  • Communicate with financial advisors and clients to gain understanding of client's needs, aide in documenting client goals, articulate investment strategy and recommendations, identify expertise needed to help the client achieve their goal, and help build relationships with clients and financial advisors
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for a specific topic that supports the creation of goals-based advice recommendations for clients with complex needs.
  • Contribute to firm wide goals, projects and initiatives in order to better serve branch teams and clients.

  • Serve as subject matter expert for complex cases requiring deep technical knowledge and experience.
What Experience You Need:
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or Law required
  • 7+ years of experience in the financial services industry experience
  • Series 7 and 66 required or acquired within 6 months of hire
  • Insurance license required or acquired 6 months of hire
  • CFP designation required or acquired in accordance with firm policy

*Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office four days per week.
