Job summary

Mariner is seeking an Intern in Financial Planning to assist advisors with holistic financial planning, client onboarding, and meeting preparation. You will help develop plans, deliver exceptional client experiences, and support business development initiatives.

The role offers exposure to advisory fundamentals, strong EQ development, and hands-on experience using CRM and planning tools while collaborating with a seasoned team.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree with an expected graduation date within 12 months of the start of the internship.
• Demonstrated leadership experience through work or extracurricular activities.
• Major in wealth management, financial planning, finance, or a related field.
• Interest in pursuing a client-facing advisory career, with a focus on business development and relationship management.

Responsibilities

• Assist in onboarding by preparing and processing necessary paperwork.
• Help schedule client meetings and develop materials to explain financial concepts.
• Observe client meetings to learn relationship-building methods.
• Participate in client meeting follow-up tasks including documentation and research.
• Contribute ideas during team discussions on improving client service and business development.
• Support client service activities, including account maintenance and money movement processes.
• Use planning and CRM software to assist with plan development and data management.
• Assist with data entry, plan modeling, and compiling plan deliverables.
• Collaborate on special projects and client service initiatives.
