What is the opportunity?

As a Wealth Planning Associate with RBC Wealth Management, you will be part of the Wealth Planning Associate (WPA) Program. This is a 24-month development program designed to provide the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed at RBC. Upon completion, you may join a Financial Advisor team to support the organization's wealth management strategy.

What will you do?

  • Learn from wealth planning experts and develop skills to become a successful wealth planner at RBC.
  • Obtain an accredited wealth planning designation (CFP preferred) during the program.
  • Participate in e-learning, case studies, virtual group work, and hands-on training on RBC products, services, and wealth planning tools.
  • Work directly with FAs and their teams, contributing to RBC Wealth Plans and presenting to clients.
  • Engage proactively with FA teams, lead financial planning meetings, and deliver wealth management solutions.
  • Upon successful completion, qualify to join an FA team as a new FA in the local market.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in personal finance.
  • Excellent communication, relationship, and analytical skills; self-motivated.
  • SIE, Series 7, Series 66 licenses.
  • Ability to obtain CFP designation within two years.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Nice-to-have

  • Understanding of financial planning processes and tools.
  • Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • 2+ years in financial planning or related industry experience.
