Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a Senior Specialist, Wealth Management Marketing in Chicago to lead marketing programs that grow client relationships and brand presence. You will own strategic events, sponsorships, and philanthropy programs from concept to post-event evaluation, while collaborating with sales, relationship managers, and regional teams.

The role requires 5–7 years in marketing or events in financial services, a college degree, and strong project management and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of marketing, event management, business development, or related experience.
• A College or University degree and/or equivalent professional experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of Wealth Management clients, financial services products, marketing principles, and client engagement strategies.
• Strong project management and organizational skills to handle multiple initiatives and stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex events and marketing programs from concept through evaluation.
• Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to build relationships across sales, relationship management, product, and marketing teams.
• Experience using data and analytics to measure marketing effectiveness and ROI.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience with Salesforce, Marketo, and event platforms preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates independently and knows Wealth Management clients and marketing strategies.
• Leads strategy, planning, and execution of high-profile client experiences, sponsorships, and philanthropy programs from concept to evaluation.
• Sets best practices for event strategy and client experience across regional marketing initiatives.
• Manages multiple projects with timelines, stakeholders, logistics, and execution.
• Oversees marketing budgets, forecasts, and reporting to local leadership.
• Collaborates with RM, Market Leaders, and sales to align priorities and programs.
• Uses Salesforce and other tech to measure engagement and ROI.
• Develops digital marketing and lead generation with regional and national teams.
• Creates market-facing communications aligned with firm objectives.
• Manages vendor relationships to deliver programs cost-effectively.
• Shares insights with teams to improve marketing impact.
