Job description

Third Act Wealth Management is a boutique wealth management firm in Dallas serving pre-retirees, retirees, and business owners. We're hiring an Associate Wealth Manager to work alongside our founder daily — in the meetings, on the calls, inside the planning work — and to learn what it takes to run a client pod here before stepping into one.

This is for the advisor who wants real upside out of a role. You'll spend your first stretch learning the business from the inside: how clients are won, how they're served, what actually holds a relationship together over a decade. Then you get the opportunity to run a pod of your own. For the right person, we see that step coming inside 12 to 18 months.

The team is small and deliberately chosen. Everyone here carries their own weight and raises the standard for the person next to them.

If you're two to four years in and you want mentorship from someone doing the work in front of you, this seat is built for that.

Client Relationship Leadership
  • Serve as a point of contact alongside our founder for high-net-worth relationships
  • Take portions of client meetings from the start, with a clear trajectory toward full ownership
  • Take first calls with prospective clients and move qualified conversations into a meeting
  • Build trust through proactive communication and follow-through that doesn't need chasing
Financial Planning & Strategy
  • Build and co-present comprehensive plans across retirement income, tax, estate coordination, and investments
  • Use eMoney for planning and client deliverables
  • Use Holistiplan for tax return analysis and planning strategy
  • Partner on portfolio strategy and implementation in Orion
  • Explain a complicated strategy out loud, simply, to someone who is nervous about money
Growth & Business Development
  • Work our lead channels
  • Participate in, then lead, new client acquisition
  • Build toward the client pod you'll eventually run
Execution & Collaboration
  • Hold a high standard of client experience and operational execution
  • Work closely with our internal team and with LPL
  • Stay organized and responsive. Details matter here and we notice.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (required)
  • CFP® designation (required)
  • Series 65 or 66 (required)
  • Series 7 preferred, or willing to obtain
  • 2–4 years of wealth management experience in a client-facing advisory seat — a role where you actually talked to clients, not just prepared for someone else's meetings
  • Genuinely comfortable on the phone. This matters more here than it does most places.
  • Experience with eMoney and Holistiplan preferred
  • Experience on or alongside the LPL platform preferred
Who You Are
  • Hungry. You want to build something of your own, and you're impatient about it in a healthy way.
  • Humble. You'll say "I don't know" in a client meeting and then go find out. We check for this.
  • Smart about people. You read a room and adjust. Trust comes quickly to you.
  • Polished. You show up credible — on video, on the phone, across a conference table.
  • Accountable. Nobody has to follow up on your follow-up.
  • A future Lead Wealth Manager. You want to run your own pod, on a timeline measured in months rather than someday — and you want to earn it rather than be handed it.
What You Get Here

Three things compound in this seat.

Upside, and a seat to grow into. You learn the pod model from the inside, then step into running one. For the right person, we see that happening inside 12 to 18 months.

Mentorship, daily. You'll learn directly from our founder, who built this firm in 2023 and has been recognized as a Forbes Best-in-State Next-Gen Wealth Advisor (2025 and 2026), named to InvestmentNews 40 Under 40 (2024), and named a Five Star Wealth Manager (2023–2025). Coaching here is weekly and specific — about your actual calls and your actual meetings, not a quarterly performance review.

A players around you. The firm funds and runs its own marketing — seminars, webinars, SmartAsset, client introductions — so advisors spend their time in client conversations rather than hunting for them. Small team, high standard, no passengers.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Competitive income based on experience, aligned to impact and growth
  • New-asset bonuses and a revenue share tied to the pod you build.
  • Firm support for continuing designations
  • Health insurance
  • Retirement plan
  • Generous PTO
