Job Description:

This EGP Trainee program aims to develop candidates to further service the FA Teams' client base. The Trainee role allows individuals to become fully licensed and obtain necessary designations before advancing to the full EGP Specialist role. It operates in a marketing and sales development capacity by implementing and executing the Elite Growth Practice (EGP). Specific responsibilities may vary depending on the team’s practice. Performance is evaluated through goals, metrics, and behaviors related to the EGP model.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop and service client segments, including the next generation and beneficiaries.
  • Gather additional assets from existing clients and deepen relationships by partnering with Merrill colleagues to deliver comprehensive solutions.
  • Coordinate technological support for portfolio analysis, proposals, and direct mail campaigns using Salesforce and other tools.
  • Provide technical expertise in product areas such as Corporate 401(k), Rule 144, Insurance, and Wealth Management Workstation.
  • Support marketing and organizational efforts.
  • This role is subject to SAFE Act registration requirements, including registration, background checks, and compliance.

Position Details:

The Elite Growth Practice (EGP) Private Wealth Investment Management Specialist role may be filled at Trainee, Specialist, or Senior levels, depending on experience and team needs. The Trainee is a non-exempt position for those lacking required licenses or designations, with the opportunity to become fully licensed and obtain necessary designations. Licenses such as Series 7 and 66 (or 63 & 65) must be obtained within a specified timeframe for advancement.

The EGP Specialist is responsible for defining the investment management philosophy for the Financial Advisor(s) and/or Advisor Team(s), developing portfolio analysis, and ensuring alignment with client goals. They deliver investment products and services, partner with specialists, and prepare client performance reviews.

Required Qualifications:

  • Series 7, 63/65, or 66 (or equivalent); must obtain all state registrations held by supported advisors if not already held.
  • SAFE Act Registration; ADV-2B Required.
  • Obtain and maintain at least one firm-approved designation.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of Wealth Management products and services.
  • Strong analytical and portfolio management skills.
  • Ability to make sound investment decisions based on best practices and policies.
  • Ability to identify client needs and articulate solutions effectively.

Minimum Education Requirement: High School Diploma / GED / Secondary School or equivalent.
