Job summary

IMA Financial Group in Wichita, KS seeks a Wealth Management Intern for Summer 2027 to gain hands-on exposure to comprehensive financial planning. You will support planners, prepare materials, and participate in client meetings under guidance, developing skills across investments, retirement, tax, and estate planning.

Ideal candidates are pursuing relevant degrees, with strong communication, curiosity, and a collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in a related field.
• Anticipated graduation Spring 2027, December 2027, or Spring 2028.
• Interest in wealth management and planning; CFP is a plus.
• Prior work or internship in professional services; MoneyGuide helpful but not required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong communication, detail orientation, and information organization.
• Collaborative, professional approach and confidentiality handling.
• Curiosity, willingness to learn, and commitment to development.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with initiative and creative problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Gather, organize, and enter client data into planning tools.
• Assist in preparing plans and reviewing scenarios with guidance.
• Observe/participate in client meetings; prepare notes and follow-up.
• Support tracking items and coordinating planning tasks.
• Organize/summarize client tax returns and estate docs.
• Research planning topics and develop client education materials.
• Build foundational knowledge across investments, retirement, tax, estate planning.
• Assist with department projects and daily admin tasks.
