Job summary

Morgan Stanley in New York seeks a Director in Finance to lead WM Controllership for the WM Marketing group. You will own forecasting, budgeting, expense tracking, and monthly reporting, partnering with business leads on strategic initiatives across Media, Brand, and Client Engagement.

Collaboration with Analytics/Data teams is key to measure customer incentives and performance. The role requires ensuring strong controls, accurate P&L and balance sheet reporting, and active participation in

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required, with experience in Finance and/or Accounting.
• 4+ years of experience in the financial services industry.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, balance priorities and deliver quality work on time.
• Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills across cross-functional teams.
• Self-starter with project management experience and sound business judgment.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint, and familiarity with AI tools and analytical systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and financial analysis for WM Marketing.
• Collaborate with Finance and Firm teams to drive business performance.
• Analyze monthly results, identify drivers/variances, and provide insights to management.
• Prepare presentations reviewing financials and key metrics for each business group.
• Support month-end close and financial reporting processes, including expense reviews.
• Assist weekly financial estimate updates and tracking toward goals.
• Develop knowledge of WM products, processes, metrics, and strategy within risk/control framework.
• Provide ad hoc analysis and strategic input as needed.
