Series 65 required at hire
Forgent is a specialty recruiter for financial services firms. Our client is a nationally recognized retirement planning and tax firm. They won an Inc. Best Workplaces 2025, and are an Inc. 5000 2026 winner, a two-time BBB Torch Award winner for Ethics, with a weekly show on CNBC. They spend about $200,000 per advisor per year generating qualified client appointments. This role is to build relationships with those new clients. A series 65 and 3-5+ years of wealth management are required.
Advisors who come here say the same thing: the client introductions are remarkable. This firm has built a client-focused process where two to three qualified appointments land on your calendar every week, all sourced from firm-led library classes, dinner seminars, and paid social. A retirement educator on the team screens each potential client on a 20-minute call and then sets time for you to meet with them.
Advisors at this firm have reached $300,000+ in year four total compensation. The starting compensation is a bridge, not a destination.
Paraplanners build the reports you present in the second meeting. When documents go out, a client service advisor joins the call, is introduced, and takes the relationship from there. You're not chasing DocuSign — you're in front of the next prospect.
He has stepped back into production specifically to develop these two new advisors and expects to be doing it for the next year. Every advisor currently succeeding at this firm was trained by him. One hire who started in late June was leading his own meetings by mid-August.
The firm requires candidates with an existing 65 as they'd rather pay more for someone already licensed. But they cover the Certified Financial Fiduciary and National Social Security Advisor designations.
We start with a short career chat, about 10 minutes. From there you'll complete two activities specific to this role, and then we will present you to our client for review.
