Job description

A growing, independent wealth management firm in the Greater Columbus area is seeking a talented, relationship-driven Wealth Advisor to join its expanding advisory team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a financial planning professional who enjoys working directly with clients, providing comprehensive financial guidance, and building meaningful long-term relationships.

The successful candidate will assume ownership of an established group of client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor while helping clients navigate their financial goals through personalized planning, investment management, and ongoing advice.

In addition to managing existing relationships, this individual will have substantial opportunities to deepen client engagement, identify additional financial planning needs, uncover new assets, and generate incremental business through an established client base.

The position offers an attractive combination of relationship management, comprehensive financial planning, business development opportunities, and long-term professional growth within a collaborative, client-focused organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of an established group of wealth management clients, serving as their primary advisor and relationship manager.
  • Conduct ongoing client meetings, financial reviews, and planning discussions.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive financial plans covering retirement income, investments, tax considerations, estate planning, and risk management.
  • Build strong, lasting client relationships through proactive communication, personalized advice, and exceptional service.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing relationships through additional assets, financial planning solutions, and appropriate cross-selling opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with senior advisors and leadership to address complex client needs and develop tailored financial strategies.
  • Review client portfolios, asset allocations, and financial objectives, recommending adjustments as appropriate.
  • Coordinate account openings, transfers, transactions, required minimum distributions, and ongoing account servicing activities.
  • Partner with operations and client service teams to deliver a seamless, high-quality client experience.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, client documentation, and financial planning information.
  • Contribute to the firm's continued growth through client retention, relationship expansion, and proactive financial guidance.
Qualifications
  • Experience in financial planning, wealth management, or a client-facing financial advisory role.
  • Active Series 65 registration and Ohio Life & Health Insurance licenses required.
  • Strong knowledge of investments, retirement planning, and comprehensive wealth management strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and communicate complex financial concepts clearly.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine passion for helping clients achieve their financial goals.
  • Proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with an interest in identifying opportunities to expand client relationships.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative advisory team.
  • CFP® designation or progress toward certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with financial planning software and CRM systems beneficial.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

The firm offers a highly attractive compensation package designed to reward talented financial professionals, including:

  • Extremely competitive base salary based on experience (or lower if higher variable comp desired)
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Paid time off and paid holidays.
  • Opportunities for continued professional development, increased responsibility, and long-term career advancement.
Why Consider This Opportunity?

This is an excellent opportunity for an advisor who enjoys the relationship-management and financial planning aspects of wealth management while also having the ambition to grow and expand existing client relationships.

With an established client base, experienced colleagues, and a collaborative support structure, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to focus on what matters most: delivering exceptional financial advice, strengthening client relationships, and contributing to the firm's continued success.

Ideal for a motivated, relationship-oriented financial advisor seeking a long-term opportunity with a growing independent wealth management organization.
