Wilmington Trust in Portsmouth, NH is seeking a Wealth Advisor to serve as the primary relationship manager for high-net-worth clients, coordinating comprehensive wealth planning, investment, trust, fiduciary, banking, and credit solutions.

You will develop deep client insights, lead a team of specialists, and collaborate with bank leaders to grow and retain affluent relationships while ensuring a seamless, compliant client experience.

Competenze

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years' sales experience in the financial services industry; or, in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 11 years’ higher education and/or work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ sales experience in the high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth client segment.
  • Securities licensing, CFP, CTFA, CPA designation
  • MBA (Master’s degree in Business Administration) or JD (Juris Doctor)

Overview:

At Wilmington Trust, the Wealth Advisor serves as the primary relationship manager and trusted advisor for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net worth individuals, families, and business owners, helping clients navigate complex financial decisions and achieve their long-term goals. Acting as the quarterback of the entire wealth relationship, the Wealth Advisor brings together a team of specialists to deliver a coordinated and comprehensive wealth management experience tailored to each client's unique needs.

This role is responsible for developing new client relationships, deepening existing relationships, and leading the delivery of customized planning, investment, trust, fiduciary, banking, and credit solutions. The Wealth Advisor is a highly visible business partner who collaborates closely with colleagues across Wealth Management and the Community Bank to identify opportunities, enhance client relationships, and ensure a seamless client experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the lead advisor and central point of contact for clients, coordinating the delivery of comprehensive wealth management solutions.
  • Act as the "quarterback" of the client relationship by bringing together and leading a team of specialists, including Client Managers, Investment Advisors, Trust Officers, Credit partners, and other subject matter experts.
  • Develop a deep understanding of each client's financial circumstances, goals, family dynamics, and priorities to create customized wealth strategies.
  • Partner closely with Community Bank leaders, Relationship Managers, and branch teams to identify referrals, uncover opportunities, and provide wealth management expertise to clients and prospects.
  • Lead client relationship strategy discussions and coordinate ongoing service and planning reviews to ensure solutions remain aligned with clients' evolving needs and objectives.
  • Build, grow, and retain a portfolio of affluent and high-net-worth client relationships through proactive business development, center-of-influence networking, and internal referral partnerships.
  • Leverage the full capabilities of M&T Bank and Wilmington Trust to deliver integrated banking, lending, investment, fiduciary, and planning solutions.
  • Maintain a disciplined business development process, managing prospect pipelines and relationship activities to support long-term revenue growth.
  • Foster strong collaboration across Wealth Management, Commercial Banking, Private Banking, and Retail Banking teams to enhance the overall client experience.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with regulatory requirements, bank policies, and risk management standards.
  • Responsible for meeting and maintaining registration requirements under the Federal SAFE Act.

The Wealth Advisor plays a critical role in driving growth across the Wealth Advisory business while strengthening relationships throughout the bank. Success in this role is achieved not only through new business development and revenue generation, but also through the ability to build trusted relationships, coordinate internal resources, and deliver a highly personalized client experience that reflects the full value of the M&T and Wilmington Trust franchise.

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years' sales experience in the financial services industry; or, in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 11 years’ higher education and/or work experience.

Minimum of 3 years’ sales experience in the high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth client segment.

Proven track record of implementing wealth management strategies.

Education and Experience Preferred:

Securities licensing, CFP, CTFA, CPA designation

MBA (Master’s degree in Business Administration) or JD (Juris Doctor)

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $135,100.00 - $225,100.00 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
