Summary/Objective

Reporting to a Partner and the Director of Wealth Management, the Wealth Advisor is responsible for managing a group book of client relationships, delivering comprehensive financial planning and investment advisory services. This role is ideal for a credentialed professional (CFP® or CPA) with a solid foundation in financial planning who is ready to take greater ownership of client relationships, contribute to business development, and mentor junior team members.

Essential Functions
  • Manage and serve as the primary advisor for an assigned book of client households, delivering comprehensive financial planning and ongoing wealth management strategies aligned with clients' goals and objectives
  • Conduct client reviews, analyze financial data, and develop recommendations related to investment management, retirement planning, tax efficiency, risk management, and estate planning
  • Build and strengthen client relationships by collaborating with clients' professional advisors, identifying opportunities for additional planning services, and supporting business development and referral initiatives
  • Ensure all client recommendations, communications, and documentation adhere to fiduciary obligations, regulatory requirements, and firm policies and procedures
  • Contribute to the development of the advisory team by mentoring Associate Wealth Advisors, sharing technical expertise, and staying current on industry trends, market conditions, and planning strategies

  • Mentor and provide guidance to Associate Wealth Advisors
  • Stay current on tax law changes, market conditions, and planning strategies relevant to client portfolios
  • Participate in business development activities, including client seminars, referral partner relationships, and community engagement
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions, recommendations, and plan updates

Education & Experience
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or related field required
  • CFP® certification or active CPA license required
  • Minimum 5 years of client facing experience in financial planning or wealth management
  • Series 65 (or 66) license
  • Demonstrated knowledge of investment management, tax planning, retirement planning, and estate planning concepts
  • Knowledge of tax concepts and business consulting services, combined with strong client relationship skills and the ability to deliver holistic support and guidance to a diverse client base.
  • Strong proficiency in financial planning software (eMoney, MoneyGuidePro) and portfolio management tools
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and relationship management skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple client relationships with a high level of service and accuracy
  • Sound judgment and ability to work independently while collaborating within a team structure
Preferred
  • Experience working with high-net-worth individuals, business owners, or dental/medical professionals (industry-specific niche experience a plus)
  • Additional designations (CPA, ChFC®, CIMA®, CWPA®, AEP®, CAP®) complementary to CFP®
  • Track record of client retention and organic growth within a book of business
Travel

Minimal travel required to see select clients and attend CWA’s Annual Meeting.

Work Environment

This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing may be required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.

Position Type & Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some remote work and flexibility in hours is allowed based on management’s approval.
