Job summary

UMB Bank is seeking a Wealth Advisor within Private Wealth Management. The role leads a highly integrated, team-based approach to place client priorities at the center of every action.

This hybrid position requires on-site presence Tue, Wed, and Thu and collaborates with the Financial Planner, Private Banker, Portfolio Manager, Trust Advisor, and Service Administrator to align wealth strategy with client objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Series 65 registration within 120 days of employment or ability to obtain it.
  • Systems thinking and complex problem solving.
  • Highly organized with strong multi-tasking abilities.
  • Professional communicator with strong written and verbal skills.
  • High emotional intelligence and teamwork orientation.
  • Culture carrier and collaborative teammate.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver financial advice to a limited client base with a team-based approach.
  • Support wealth advisors with execution of client strategies and operations.
  • Provide comprehensive wealth management services and planning advice.
  • Develop deep understanding of the financial planning process with clients.
  • Offer wealth, planning, insurance, investment, and estate planning guidance.
  • Collaborate with Private Banking to deliver lending and banking advice.
  • Proactively identify trends and opportunities with clients and prospects.
  • Adopt new platforms/tools to improve efficiency and client experience.
  • Maintain minimum standards of care across client relationships.
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Private Wealth Management team serves to manage, protect and grow. As a fiduciary, we deliver financial outcomes for our clients through team‑based advice. As the Wealth Advisor, you will lead a highly integrated team‑based approach working to ensure the client’s priorities are at the center of every action. The Sr. Wealth Advisor works closely with the Financial Planner, Private Banker, Portfolio Manager, Trust Advisor and Service Administrator to build the wealth strategy that aligns with the client’s objectives. This role is hybrid (Tues/Wed/Thur on‑site).

How You'll Spend Your Time
  • Deliver financial advice to a limited number of clients.
  • Support resource to other wealth advisors on team, providing leverage to execute on client advice strategies.
  • Support the delivery of comprehensive advice and customized wealth management services to clients within the practice.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the financial planning process with clients.
  • Deliver wealth, financial planning, insurance, investment, and estate planning advice to clients, as assigned.
  • Partner with Private Banking team to deliver clients lending, credit, and banking advice.
  • Proactively understand and act upon trends, attrition risks, and opportunities with clients and prospects.
  • Adopt new platforms and technologies to drive operational efficiency and enhance the client experience.
  • Ensure all minimum standards of care are met across all client relationships assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Must have, or possess ability to obtain, the Series 65 registration within 120 days of employment.

  • You have applicable experience within financial services.
  • You are effective in personal networking.
  • You possess sales skills with acumen to close new business.
  • You have experience with financial planning.
  • You have proficiency in Salesforce CRM software, and familiarity in other front office software used by wealth advisors such as eMoney client portal and financial planning software.
  • You demonstrate proficiency in UMB custody and clearing platforms such as SEI and Fidelity Wealthscape.
  • You have working knowledge of Workday, Peoplesoft, Archer, Skillport and Hyperion.
Compensation Ranges

US Employees in California, Washington DC, New Jersey, and New York – $69,920 - $109,460

US Employees in Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin – $63,830 - $100,210

US Employees in all other states not listed above – $57,760 - $90,960
