Job summary

Walt Disney Imagineering invites applications for a Show Lighting Design internship in Anaheim, CA or Orlando, FL. You will work with a team researching, designing, installing, testing and documenting lighting projects that support the creative vision for attractions and venues.

Under supervision, you will develop lighting designs, prepare basic lighting schemes, troubleshoot in construction environments, and support Lighting Designers.

Qualifications

• Hands on experience with theatrical or architectural lighting.
• Experience with AutoCAD & Revit.
• Computer literacy with MS Office products.
• Ability to work as a member of a technical team.
• Valid Driver's License required.

About the Role & Program

The approximate date of this internship is January to June 2027 and will be located in Anaheim, CA OR Orlando, FL.

What You Will Do

We are looking for a Show Lighting Design intern who has a true passion for lighting. As an intern on the team, you will work with the team that researches, designs, develops, installs, tests and adjusts, and/or documents new projects. These projects apply architectural and theatrical lighting techniques supporting the creative vision for attractions, restaurants, merchandise areas and/or area development in our WDW Orlando based theme park and resort areas! Required Qualifications & Skills

Education

• Currently enrolled as a Junior or higher attending an accredited college/university earning a degree majoring in a Theatrical or Architectural Lighting program, or related field.

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:

• Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Possess unrestricted work authorizationHave not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.

• Must be fully available for the duration of the internship
• Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship in Anaheim, CA

The pay rate for this role in Anaheim, CA OR Orlando, FL is $26.50 per hour for undergraduate students and $27.50 per hour for graduate level students.
