Job summary

Walt Disney Imagineering is seeking a Show Control Hardware intern to help bring show elements of attractions to life. The internship runs January 2027 through June 2027 at locations in Glendale, CA or Orlando, FL.

You will assist with basic engineering design, calculations, and provide support to Lead Engineers in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Eligible candidates are enrolled in an accredited college pursuing Electrical, Electronics, or Software Engineering, and must meet Disney

• Hands-on experience with industrial control systems and hardware design.
• Familiarity with PLCs and control hardware design systems.
• Interest in working in a test and adjust construction environment.
• Ability to work as part of a technical team.
• MS Office proficiency.
• Valid driver’s license required.

What You Will Do

We are looking for a Show Control Hardware intern to work with the team responsible for bringing all show elements of our attractions to life! As an intern on the team, you will have the opportunity to:

• Prepare, under supervision, basic engineering design and calculation
• Provide general engineering support to Lead Engineers

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Hands on experience with industrial control systems
• Familiarity with control hardware design systems
• Familiarity with PLCs
• Interest in working in a "test and adjust" construction environment
• Ability to work as a member of a technical team
• Computer literacy with MS Office products
• Valid Driver’s License required

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with MatLab and/or UML
• AutoCad and/or SolidWorks experience
• Experience with Revit
• Experience working in a professional engineering environment

Education

Currently enrolled as a Junior or higher attending an accredited college/university earning a degree majoring in Engineering, studying Electrical, Electronics or Software Engineering, or related field

Preferred Education

Successful completion of fundamental Electrical, Electronics or Software Engineering courses

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:

• Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Possess unrestricted work authorization
• Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program

The pay rate for this role in California is $3.00 per hour for undergraduate students and $36.00 per hour for graduate level students.
