Job summary

Walt Disney Imagineering in Glendale, CA or Orlando, FL is offering a Show Control Hardware internship for January 2027 through June 2027. You will support engineers, assist with basic design calculations, and help bring show elements to life.

This paid internship requires enrollment in an engineering program (Electrical/Electronics/Software), 18+, valid work authorization, and ability to work in a team in a construction/testing environment. Housing may be limited for Florida-based interns.

Qualifications

  • Enrollment in accredited college/university pursuing an engineering degree (Electrical/Electronics/Software).
  • Must be at least 18 years old and have work authorization.
  • Reliable transportation to/from work and full availability for the internship duration.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, under supervision, basic engineering design and calculation.
  • Provide general engineering support to Lead Engineers.

The approximate date of this internship is January 2027 to June 2027 and will be located in Glendale, CA or Orlando, FL

What You Will Do

We are looking for a Show Control Hardware intern to work with the team responsible for bringing all show elements of our attractions to life! As an intern on the team, you will have the opportunity to:


  • Prepare, under supervision, basic engineering design and calculation
  • Provide general engineering support to Lead Engineers

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Hands on experience with industrial control systems
  • Familiarity with control hardware design systems
  • Familiarity with PLCs
  • Interest in working in a \"test and adjust\" construction environment
  • Ability to work as a member of a technical team
  • Computer literacy with MS Office products
  • Valid Driver’s License required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with MatLab and/or UML
  • AutoCad and/or SolidWorks experience
  • Experience with Revit
  • Experience working in a professional engineering environment

Education

Currently enrolled as a Junior or higher attending an accredited college/university earning a degree majoring in Engineering, studying Electrical, Electronics or Software Engineering, or related field


Preferred Education

Successful completion of fundamental Electrical, Electronics or Software Engineering courses


Eligibility Requirements & Program Information

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
  • Be at least 18 years ofage
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program

  • Fully available for the duration of the internship

The pay rate for this role in California is $3.00 per hour for undergraduate students and $36.00 per hour for graduate level students.
