Job summary

Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar in Tampa is hiring a friendly, energetic host/guest services team member to create memorable experiences for every guest.

You will greet guests, manage reservations, and help ensure timely seating while maintaining a clean, organized dining room. Strong English communication and a positive, guest-first attitude are essential. OpenTable experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Fun, energetic, and work with a genuine care for the guest experience.
• Prior restaurant experiences is desired, but not required.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• OpenTable experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Interact with all guests and co-workers in a professional, hospitable, and friendly manner.
• Arrive on time for scheduled shifts, ready to work, with proper uniform.
• Accept and book reservations; offer alternatives when preferred times are unavailable.
• Calculate and quote accurate wait times and guide guests to alternatives as needed.
• Keep floors, entry, and aisles clean and debris-free.
• Assist in bussing tables when waiting or tables are needed immediately.
• Provide guests with directions and assist with questions or concerns.
• Genuinely thank departing guests and welcome new ones.
• Be knowledgeable about restaurant information to answer guest questions.
• Answer calls and route to proper department; communicate important information to managers.

• Arrive on time for scheduled shifts, ready to work. The proper uniform should be worn at all times including dress, make-up, hair, and jewelry.
• Properly accept and book reservations. When there is not the guest’s desired time available, offering an alternative time slot or option to ensure the guest joins us.
• Calculate, note, and quote accurate wait times. When the wait is extensive, being sure to offer the bar for cocktails and appetizers before heading to the table for dinner.
• Keep floors, entry, and aisleways clean and free of debris.
• Assist in bussing tables, when we are on a wait or in need of a table immediately.
• Provide guests “right of way” and assist guests needing directions around the restaurant.
• Genuinely thank all departing guests for dining with us and welcome all guests joining us.
• Be familiar with all restaurant information to be able to answer any guest questions or address any concerns.
• Answer all phone calls and fulfill any guest needs; be able to place calls on hold when needed or direct the call to the proper department; communicate any important information to the managers on duty.
