Job summary

Whiskey Cake seeks a professional bartender to deliver exceptional service in a high-volume bar environment. You will craft cocktails, manage guest interactions, and maintain bar operations with precision and energy.

Prior bar experience and strong knowledge of mixology/whiskey are highly valued. Expect to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and uphold sanitation and safety standards, including Food Handler’s Certification and TABC Compliance.

Qualifications

• Previous bar experience is required.
• 2 years of upscale service preferred.
• Craft cocktail & whiskey knowledge preferred.
• High volume service experience preferred.
• Love for food and drinks with a passion for cocktails.
• Stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Maintain Food Handler’s Certification and TABC Certification; follow sanitation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Interact with guests and coworkers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Arrive on time for scheduled shifts and be ready to work.
• Wear proper uniform at all times.
• Set up and dismantle the bar area according to procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness of the bar during shift.
• Prepare drinks, garnishes, mixers, syrups, and other items as per recipes.
• Assist guests with questions about the menu and beverages.
• Handle cash and card transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Support beverage service at tables and bar areas.
• Communicate issues to management promptly.
• Collaborate with team in a positive, energetic manner.
• Complete opening/closing duties and restock as needed.

• Assist guests with any questions or concerns about the menu. This includes continually studying and furthering your knowledge base including liquor, beer, and wine.
• Handle all cash and credit card transactions accurately and efficiently, according to company standards.
• Execute proper food delivery, placement, and removal at all tables.
• Communicate any questions or issues to the management team in a timely manner.
• Communicate and work together with coworkers and management in a friendly and enthusiastic manner.
• P erform appropriate opening and closing duties, including disassembling, cleaning, and sanitize workstations after every shift.
• Set up the team for the next shift for success.
• Practice proper sanitation procedures and follow regulations regarding alcohol sale and service.
• Participate in any, and all, continuing education courses available to you.
• Maintain beverage inventory at proper serving temperatures and restock Service Bar with liquor, beer, wine, soft drinks, mixers, fruit, and necessary equipment prior to the end of each shift.
• Assist in washing and restocking glassware for bar drinks, and guest usage.
