About This Role

Responsible for quality control of all U.S. and PCT patent filings for Washington, DC and Western office for accuracy and completeness. Identifies recurring issues and works with IP Staff Training and Docketing Manager, Best Practices Committee and others to resolve.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Responsible for quality control of all U.S. and PCT patent filings for Washington, DC and Western office for accuracy and completeness. Identifies recurring issues and works with IP Staff Training and Docketing Manager, Best Practices Committee and others to resolve.
  • Coordinates with IP Staff Training and Docketing Manager, Best Practices Committee and others on patent training programs for secretaries and paralegals. Designs and implements IP training programs for all staff. Keeps abreast of trends and changes in the practice to deliver up to date and accurate training programs.
  • Works with IP Staff Training and Docketing Manager, Best Practices Committee and others to develop and establish patent prosecution best practices, standardize work product and promote compliance.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in U.S. and foreign patent rules. Evaluates impact of rule changes on administrative practices and works with IP Staff Training and Docketing Manager, Best Practices Committee and others to implement appropriate changes.
  • Works with IP Staff Training and Docketing Manager, Best Practices Committee and others to establish and implement procedures for filing documents at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
  • Acts as a resource for legal staff and secretaries in resolving patent process issues.
  • Responsible for completion of 9-month file audits for the DC and Western offices.
  • Assists with requesting and receiving responses to final due date reminders as docketed for the DC and Western offices.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Displays professionalism, quality service and a “can do” attitude to internal members/departments of the firm as well as external clients and vendors via electronic and print correspondence, over the telephone and in-person.

The salary range for this position is $115,300 - $144,100.
