Job summary

Walser Automotive Group is seeking a dedicated operations and people-lead role at our Minnesota dealership. You will oversee lot maintenance, vehicle checks on arrival, and data entry while ensuring accurate dealer paperwork and pricing changes.

You will train and manage department staff, monitor performance, and drive policy compliance. The role includes coordinating recruiting, staff development, and ensuring safety and HR processes are followed.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have manual dexterity and eye/hand coordination to operate equipment.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the dealership lot.
• Inspect new vehicles on transport for damage and arrange repairs.
• Scan invoices and maintain on file; process dealer trade paperwork.
• Data entry of vehicles into the DMS; enter price changes.
• Audit sales and RDRs; assign stock numbers for incoming vehicles.
• Train and manage staff; ensure adherence to company policies.
• Lead, coach, and evaluate staff; manage pay rates and hours; handle disciplinary actions.
• Coordinate with Recruiting to interview and hire staff; HR escalation as needed.
• Support policy communication, safety compliance, and career development.

What You’ll Do:

• Maintaining the dealership lot
• Inspect new vehicles that come on transport truck for damage- report transport/lot damage and arrange for repair
• Scan invoices for all new vehicles and maintain on file
• Process Dealer Trade paperwork
• Data entry of vehicles into DMS
• Enter price changes
• Audit sales and RDR’s
• Make packets and assign stock numbers for incoming vehicles
• Train and manage staff in company policies and ensure adherence to all company policies
• Motivate, counsel and monitor the performance of all department staff conducting disciplinary action or PIP’s as needed and administer annual performance evaluations for staff with thoughtful feedback
• Appraise staff productivity and efficiency for the purpose of recommending promotions or other changes in status
• Ensure staff completes all required job duties in an accurate and timely manner
• Complete employee terminations based on policy violations with HR approval
• Manage all staff pay rates and hours worked, schedules, time off, and other administrative duties
• Coordinate with the Recruiting Department to interview and hire department staff
• Ensure that any employee relations issues or concerns are addressed and escalated to HR when necessary
• Monitor and assist in the implementation of company initiatives and legal compliance measures and ensure the communication of company news on a regular basis
• Ensure Walser service processes and scripts are followed by employees
• Support the career and professional development of staff
• Lead by example and be an advocate for staff
• Must wear safety eyewear at all times when in dealership service departments
• All other duties, tasks and/or projects as assigned
