Job summary

Western Management Group is hiring an Operations Technician to support the Las Vegas Monorail's operation and maintenance. The role includes testing equipment, operating doors, switches, and train control, and performing preventive maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems.

The candidate should have 2 years of electrical/mechanical or technical training, be willing to work 1st or 2nd shift, weekends, evenings, holidays, and overtime, and pass background and drug screening.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in electrical/mechanical or technical training.
• Must be able to work 1st or 2nd shift, weekends, evenings, holidays and overtime as needed.
• Must be able to pass a criminal and employment background check, as well as a drug test.

Responsibilities

• Support operation and maintenance of the Las Vegas Monorail system.
• Conduct routine testing of equipment.
• Operate platform doors, switches, train control, and power distribution systems in manual or remote mode.
• Perform corrective and preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs and adjustments to electrical and mechanical systems.
• Maintain and repair Automatic Fare Collection Equipment using diagrams and manuals.
• Repair or replace defective parts using drawings and specifications.
• Respond to system failures and recover transit vehicles to restore operations.
• Work outdoors in inclement weather.

Job description

The Wayside Operations Technician is responsible for:

• Supporting the operation & maintenance of the Las Vegas Monorail system
• Conducting routine testing of equipment
• Operating platform doors, switches, train control, and power distribution systems in a manual or remote mode
• Performing corrective and preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs and adjustments to all systems, subsystems and components of an electronic and mechanical nature
• Maintains and repairs Automatic Fare Collection Equipment using diagrams, manuals, and schematic diagrams
• Repairing or replacing defective parts, equipment utilizing manuals, drawings, specs and other written or verbal instructions
• Responding to system failures – recover transit vehicles and restore system operations
• Working outdoors in inclement weather

Qualifications:

MUST BE ABLE TO WORK 1ST OR 2nd SHIFT, WEEKENDS, EVENINGS, HOLIDAYS AND OVERTIME AS NEEDED.

2 years of experience in electrical/mechanical or technical training.
