Position Overview

Operate, maintain, and intervene with various types of low-tech and high-tech equipment, including filling, labeling, packaging, and palletizing equipment across single or multiple lines. The primary goal is to work safely with a focus on teamwork to reduce downtime, and improve efficiency and quality. Partnering with cross-functional teams is crucial for success as an Aerosols and Liquids Operator.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Supply lines with non-finished goods from the staging area.
  2. Troubleshoot and resolve process/equipment/component issues.
  3. Maximize uptime and reduce scrap.
  4. Maintain and improve quality standards.
  5. Apply root cause problem solving methods.
  6. Identify wastes and eliminate losses.
  7. Perform quick changeovers and work towards reduction of changeover times.
  8. Participate in autonomous production teams focused on loss elimination.
  9. Support plant audits (GMP, SQA, ISO, SEA, Housekeeping, Centerlining, etc.).
  10. Utilize Lean principles (Performance Management, Centerlining, CIL, QCO, 5S, Loss Teams, Kaizens, etc.).
  11. Complete technical training requirements within the designated timeframe.
  12. Analyze data to determine and implement next steps.
  13. Make minor machine adjustments as needed.
  14. Participate in root cause analysis (fishbone, 5 Why).
  15. Proficiently use MS Office, SAP, and SMED tools.
  16. Perform minor maintenance on equipment.
  17. Maintain a clean and safe workplace according to SCJ policies.
  18. Interact professionally and contribute positively within the team.
  19. Develop and adhere to standard work and SOPs.
  20. Show adaptability by performing various shift assignments.
  21. Work overtime as required.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Strong math and measurement skills.
  • Knowledge of safety, health, and environmental practices.
  • Ability to handle diverse tasks and troubleshoot effectively.
  • Teamwork and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work independently or in teams to meet goals.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • At least 2 years manufacturing experience.
  • Lean manufacturing and SMED experience.
  • Experience at S.C. Johnson Waxdale facility preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic hand tools, pneumatic, lubrication skills, and robotics awareness.
Job Requirements
  • Full-time, with shifts on 2nd, 3rd, or 12-hour teams.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 40 pounds, standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching, pushing, and pulling for 8-12 hours.
  • Work environment is manufacturing; telecommuting is not available.
