Job summary

Chromalloy is seeking a manufacturing supervisor to oversee a team responsible for operating a variety of machines and producing parts to meet production goals. The role requires hands-on leadership, scheduling, quality checks, and strong safety practices in a fast-paced plant environment.

Summary

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in operating variety of machines to manufacture parts or products by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Analyzes work orders to estimate worker hours and create machining schedules that meet both internal and external needs.

  • Computes amounts of stock and supplies required for operations, based on production schedules, and requisitions materials from storage area.
  • Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
  • Plans flow of materials through department and develops physical layout of machines according to work orders.
  • Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
  • Inspects and measures parts and products to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Managing staff
  • Directs workers in adjusting machines and equipment to repair products which fail to meet standards.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Develops capital equipment justifications for machine tools and process technology to improve quality, cost, and cycle times.
  • Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials. Overseeing daily operations of a manufacturing plant.
  • Ensuring production goals are met efficiently and safely.
  • Coordinating production schedules.
  • Maintaining equipment.
  • Enforcing safety regulations.
  • Managing the production timeline.
  • Coordinating with other departments.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, and mentoring; planning, assigning, and directing work; performance reviews; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, conflict resolution, and resolving problems.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

One year certificate from college or technical school; or 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Manufacturing experience required. Investment Castings experience preferred.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Manufacturing software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

The salary range for this position reflects a broad spectrum of experience levels. Individual compensation within the range is determined by multiple factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, job related skills, internal equity, and market conditions.
