Job summary

Chromalloy is seeking a Wax Injection Mold Machine Operator for the 2nd shift in Tampa, FL. You will operate wax injection molding equipment to produce precision patterns for aerospace components, ensuring quality and safety standards.

Training may occur on various shifts, with a $2.00 shift differential. The role requires basic mechanical aptitude, the ability to read instructions, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing or machine operation is preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions and engineering practices.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate wax injection molding machines following engineering practices and work instructions.
  • Prepare and install dies, cores, and tooling for production runs.
  • Load materials and monitor machine settings, including temperature, pressure, and cycle parameters.
  • Produce wax patterns, sprues, gating, and related components to quality standards.
  • Inspect finished parts for defects and perform minor cleaning or deflashing as needed.
  • Obtain and verify x-ray results for cored patterns when required.
  • Complete production paperwork and sign off on routers.
  • Perform daily TPM checks and maintain equipment and work areas.
  • Transfer completed parts to the next operation and communicate quality concerns or production issues.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and standard work requirements.

Job Summary

We’re looking for a Wax Injection Mold Machine Operator to operate wax injection molding equipment used to produce precision wax patterns, gating, sprues, and related components for aerospace manufacturing. This role supports production by setting up and operating molding equipment, inspecting finished parts, and ensuring quality, safety, and process standards are met.

Shift: 2nd shift, Monday-Friday 1:30p-9:30p

Shift Differential: $2.00

Training: During the training period, employees may be required to work a schedule outside of their regularly assigned shift to support hands‑on learning and development. Training is typically conducted Monday through Friday and may occur on first, second, or third shift based on business needs. Upon successful completion of training, employees will transition to their assigned shift.

What You’ll Be Doing

What We’re Looking For
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ months of manufacturing, machine operation, production, or related experience preferred.
  • Ability to clearly communicate in English, including speaking, reading, writing, and understanding work instructions.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to safely operate machinery and tooling.
  • Knowledge of production processes and quality standards.
  • Ability to monitor machine performance and recognize process issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform visual inspections.
  • Good hand dexterity and ability to perform repetitive, precision tasks.
  • Ability to work safely, follow procedures, and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
Nice to Have
  • Experience operating manufacturing equipment in a production environment.
  • Experience working with precision components, tooling, or inspection processes.
  • Experience reading engineering practices or manufacturing instructions.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Manufacturing environment with moving machinery, moderate noise, and occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
  • Regular standing, walking, bending, and use of hands for machine operation and inspection activities.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and move up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Close vision, color recognition, depth perception, and focus adjustment required for inspection and defect identification.
  • Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including hearing protection, safety glasses, hand protection, and safety-toed shoes.

This position may require work hours outside of the regularly scheduled hours to meet operational needs. This may include work during evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Additional work hours are assigned based on business requirements. Non-exempt employees will be paid overtime in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.

The salary range for this position reflects a broad spectrum of experience levels. Individual compensation within the range is determined by multiple factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, job related skills, internal equity, and market conditions. We evaluate each candidate individually to ensure fair and competitive pay decisions.
