Job summary

Valcourt is seeking an Experienced Field Technician in Hyattsville, MD to perform waterproofing, façade restoration, concrete repair, and building-envelope work under the direction of foremen, superintendents, or project managers.

You will execute tasks safely and efficiently, follow project specifications, prepare surfaces, install membranes and coatings, operate hand and power tools, climb scaffolds, and collaborate with field crews to meet schedules while upholding company safety and quality

Qualifications

Construction, waterproofing, concrete repair, masonry, roofing, restoration, or related experience preferred.
Willingness to learn commercial waterproofing, façade restoration, concrete repair, and building-envelope systems.
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a field crew.
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and small construction equipment.
Ability to perform physically demanding work in active construction environments.
Strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and organization.
Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain regular attendance.
Ability to work independently after receiving direction.
Communicate jobsite issues clearly to supervisors.
Comfortable working at heights and on façades, rooftops, parking garages, balconies, plaza decks, and similar structures.
Experience with scaffolding, aerial lifts, rigging or swing stages is a plus.
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform commercial waterproofing, concrete repair, façade restoration, and related specialty construction work.
Follow direction from the Foreman, Superintendent, or Project Manager.
Complete work safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications and manufacturer requirements.
Assist with jobsite setup, material staging, protection, cleanup, and demobilization.
Prepare surfaces for waterproofing, coatings, sealants, and concrete repairs.
Remove damaged concrete, coatings, sealants, and other materials using hand and power tools.
Perform surface preparation, including grinding, chipping, scraping, cleaning, and pressure washing.
Assist with concrete forming, reinforcing steel, patching, mortar placement, finishing, and curing.
Install or assist with waterproofing membranes, coatings, sealants, expansion joints, traffic‑bearing systems, and related materials.
Mix, transport, and apply construction materials per manufacturer specifications.
Perform or assist with crack repair, epoxy injection, joint preparation, and sealant installation.
Safely operate hand tools, power tools, small equipment, and construction machinery.
Use scaffolding, aerial lifts, swing stages, rigging, ladders, and other access equipment when trained and authorized.
Maintain tools, equipment, and company property in good working condition.
Keep work areas clean, organized, and hazard‑free.
Protect adjacent property, occupied buildings, landscaping, vehicles, and pedestrian areas.
Report equipment issues, unsafe conditions, material shortages, and field concerns to supervision.
Assist with material deliveries, inventory, and staging.
Follow company policies, jobsite rules, and general contractor requirements.
Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, pre‑task planning, and job hazard analyses.
Assist with punch‑list work, inspections, final cleanup, and project closeout.
Work collaboratively with field crews, subcontractors, and project partners.
