Job summary

Syngenta Group is seeking a Breeding Intern – Watermelon in Woodland, CA, as part of the Emerging Talent Program. You will support the Melon Breeding Team in field activities, participate in high-throughput phenotyping, and help collect data across multiple crops.

This temporary internship runs mid-June 2027 to mid-September 2027 and emphasizes hands-on learning. The ideal candidate is pursuing a related degree, has strong communication, and is eager to gain practical experience in vegetable

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; pursuing a relevant bachelor’s or higher degree.
• Eligible to work in the U.S.
• Bilingual English/Spanish ideal but not required.
• Knowledge of plant breeding preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support breeding teams in field activities evaluating new hybrids and inbred lines.
• Assist with high-throughput phenotyping in Cucurbit programs.
• Collect, document, and curate data for accuracy and integrity.
