Job summary

McWilliams Forge Company is seeking a skilled CNC waterjet operator to load materials, program cutting paths from blueprints, and optimize cutting parameters. You will monitor performance, perform test cuts, and ensure parts meet exact specifications while maintaining rigorous safety practices.

The role requires reading technical drawings, CNC programming experience, and strong mechanical aptitude, with a commitment to quality. On-site position with standard safety protocols and PPE usage.

Responsibilities

• Program cutting paths using CNC software based on work orders or blueprints.
• Adjust cutting parameters like pressure, speed, and abrasive flow to optimize results.
• Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments during operation.
• Starting and stopping the machine as needed.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools to ensure adherence to specifications.
• Identify and address any quality issues during the cutting process.
• Perform routine cleaning and lubrication of the waterjet machine and report malfunctions.
• Follow safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE.

• Performing test cuts to verify machine settings before full production runs

Maintenance And Troubleshooting

• Performing routine cleaning and lubrication of the waterjet machine
• Inspecting cutting heads, nozzles, and abrasive delivery systems for wear and tear
• Identifying and reporting any machine malfunctions to the supervisor
• Troubleshooting minor issues related to cutting process or tooling

Safety Procedures

• Adhering to all safety guidelines related to operating a high-pressure waterjet machine
• Wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
