Phoenix Laser Solutions in Meadville, PA is hiring a Waterjet Operator for 2nd shift. You will set up and run the waterjet to cut parts from metal plate and other materials. Machine shop or CNC experience is a plus, but we will train the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Read blueprints and symbols, use calipers and micrometers.
• Ability to load programs with basic computer skills.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, safe workspace.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Set up and run the waterjet to cut parts from drawings and programs.
• Load and unload material.
• Select the right program, cut settings, and nozzle for each job.
• Measure, verify, and document parts against blueprint tolerances.
• Deburr and clean finished parts.
• Keep the machine running: replenish garnet, change nozzles and orifices, and clean the tank.
• Track material and label parts for workflow.
• Maintain a safe, orderly work area and report issues.

Position Overview

We are hiring a Waterjet Operator to join our 2nd shift team in Meadville. You'll set up and run a waterjet to cut parts from metal plate and other materials. Machine shop or CNC experience is a plus. We'll train the right candidate on our waterjet. Attention to detail and a safety-first mindset matter most.

Responsibilities

• Set up and run the waterjet to cut parts from drawings and programs


• Load and unload material


• Select the right program, cut settings, and nozzle for each job


• Measure, verify, and document parts against blueprint tolerances


• Deburr and clean finished parts


• Keep the machine running: check and refill garnet, change nozzles and orifices, and clean the tank


• Track material and label parts so jobs move to the next step


• Keep the work area clean and safe


• Report machine issues and help improve shop processes

What We're Looking For

• Experience running a waterjet, CNC mill, plasma, or laser cutter is a plus


• Able to read blueprints and use calipers and micrometers


• Basic computer skills to load and select programs


• Careful, dependable worker who follows safety procedures


• Self-starter who works well independently with minimal supervision

Position Requirements

• Lift and move up to 50 lbs; use a crane or forklift for heavier plate


• Stand for extended periods


• Wear required PPE, including safety glasses and hearing protection


• Work in a wet environment with machine noise


• Available for overtime during peak workloads or special projects
