Job description

FAA Testing Required

Reporting to the Waterjet Operations Manager, this position is responsible for performing operations on Waterjet machines, including loading, securing, and unloading hardware, while inspecting hardware for nonconformance.

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Verify proper handling and storage of hardware.
  2. Ensure serial numbers on hardware match those on the travelers.
  3. Select appropriate equipment and materials as per instructions.
  4. Secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and hardware on the machine using hand tools.
  5. Use precision-measuring instruments to verify inspection accuracy, hardware quality, and machine setups.
  6. Determine if adjustments are needed based on inspection results, tool changes, setup, or hardware placement.
  7. Replace worn tools.
  8. Ensure gauges and fixtures are secure and functioning correctly.
  9. Contribute to achieving cell goals.
  10. Complete relevant documentation according to internal procedures.
  11. Load hardware and perform shim checks.
  12. Diagnose and communicate machine, hardware, or process issues.
  13. Monitor and maintain abrasive levels.
  14. Notify personnel of documentation modifications if needed.
  15. Perform checks and preventative maintenance on machines and equipment.
  16. Communicate clearly with team members.
  17. Respond appropriately to machine issues.
  18. Perform additional duties as required.
  19. Adhere to all quality standards.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with documentation.
  • Meet ITAR definition of US Person(s) with documentation.
  • Ability to write and document information clearly.
  • Understanding of the machining process.
  • Proficiency in verbal and written English communication.
  • Basic math skills involving whole numbers, decimals, and fractions.
  • Excellent attendance record.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • FAA Testing and Training are mandatory.
  • Pre-placement FAA drug testing is required due to safety sensitivity.
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience operating Waterjet machines.
  • Completion of a machinist apprenticeship or equivalent.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:

This role requires skillful and coordinated movements of arms, hands, and fingers, including lifting or moving up to 50 lbs. Long periods of standing or bending are expected. Visual acuity is necessary for inspecting hardware details. Personal protective equipment must be worn as per safety guidelines.
