GDIT is seeking a Sheet-Metal Worker, Maintenance in a waterfront shipboard setting. You will perform fabrication, assembly, and inspection on Naval ships in shipyards and drydocks, adapting to hot summers and cold winters. The role involves operating machines, riveting, welding, and ensuring quality per specs.

Requires a high school diploma or GED and 1–3 years of related experience; US citizenship is required. Expect 40-hour weeks, travel up to 25%, and onsite work in Seattle, WA.

Competenze

• Requires high school diploma or GED with technical training preferred.
• 1+ years of related sheet-metal fabrication experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and work with metal parts.

Mansioni

• Set up and operate fabricating machines (shears, brakes, punches).
• Shape metal over anvils or forms using hammer and tools.
• Weld or solder sheet metal parts per instructions.
• Smooth seams and joints with grinders and files.
• Install assemblies per blueprints and sketches.
• Inspect assemblies with calipers, scales and micrometer.
• Follow established safety procedures and participate in projects.
