The City of Santa Barbara seeks a Waterfront Maintenance Worker to lead and assist in the maintenance and repair of waterfront properties. Ideal candidates will have experience in custodial and maintenance work, possess strong mechanical skills, and demonstrate the ability to provide excellent customer service. The position offers a competitive salary based on experience levels, with a flexible work schedule, including possible weekend duty.

Level I: $51,292.02 - $62,344.88 Annually
Level II: $56,390.36 - $68,542.24 Annually

Under supervision, lead and participate in maintenance and repairs at the Waterfront. Operate equipment such as trucks, street sweepers, lawn mowers, and hedge trimmers, following safety protocols. Maintain hazardous waste sites, inventories, and custodial supplies. Work over water or from boats, perform building and equipment maintenance, and keep accurate records. Provide excellent customer service and contribute to a positive environment.
This position is flexibly staffed at either Level I or II, based on qualifications. The selection process will determine placement. Refer to the job descriptions for detailed duties.
This role follows a 9/80 schedule, Monday through Friday, with every other Friday off. On-call weekend duty and emergency coverage are required on a rotating basis.
Frequent lifting up to 25 pounds, occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, and climbing. Work may be outdoors in adverse weather, over water, and near chemicals and noise.
