Job summary

Special Forces Underwater Operations (SFUWO) in Key West, FL, is seeking a Watercraft Maintenance Technician to support over 40 boats, trailers, and 30 outboards. The role requires an Active Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship.

You will perform maintenance on Combat Rubber Raiding Craft and motors, maintain 3M documentation, and generate regular maintenance reports. Strong familiarity with 3M, SKED, and GCSS-Army is expected.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain Combat Rubber Raiding Craft, including valves, hulls, and floors.
• Overhaul outboard motors (35–350 HP), including fuel systems and props.
• Maintain rigid hull boats, trailers, and electrical/fiberglass work.
• Follow maintenance per OPNAV 4790 and use the 3M/SKED systems.
• Track deficiencies, requisitions, and spare parts inventory.
• Maintain 3M documentation and GCSS-Army records.
• Provide daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance and labor reports.

Job description

Position Title : Watercraft Maintenance Technician Location : Key West, FL Clearance required : SECRET Scope of Work: Provides watercraft maintenance at the Special Forces Underwater Operations (SFUWO) facility in Key West, FL, supporting over 40 rigid and inflatable boats, trailers, and 30 outboard motors for C Company, Support Battalion, 2nd SWTG (A). Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Maintain and repair Combat Rubber Raiding Craft, including intercommunicating valves, holes, cuts, tears, transoms, baffles, and hard and soft boat floors.
• Perform teardowns and overhauls of outboard motors from 35 to 350 horsepower, including fuel systems and propellers.
• Maintain rigid hull boats and trailers, including electrical system maintenance and fiberglass repair.
• Execute maintenance per OPNAV Instruction 4790 and schedule within the 3M maintenance system using the SKED program.
• Track equipment deficiencies, prepare material requisitions, and manage spare parts inventory.
• Maintain 3M documentation, including Maintenance Requirement Cards, List of Effective Pages, and Job Sequence Numbers, and operate the GCSS-Army Maintenance Module.
• Provide daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance reports and weekly labor-hour reports. Qualifications
