Job summary

Carollo Engineers, Inc. is seeking a senior project manager/engineer to lead water and wastewater design and construction projects in the Arlington area.

You will manage scope, schedule, budget, and client relationships, delivering high-quality engineering solutions across the water cycle. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
  • 10+ years in water industry with at least five years of project management experience.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer.
  • Experience in design and construction phase of water/wastewater projects with budget, schedule, contractual obligations and quality standards.
  • Facilities planning and CIP development experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and project team.

Responsibilities

  • Performs engineering work in design, rehabilitation, and/or construction of water, wastewater, and reuse treatment facilities.
  • Works on engineering designs, prepare reports, develop plans, prepare specifications, and cost estimates for various water, wastewater, and reuse projects, permitting and alternative analysis.
  • Prepares technical memoranda, reports and electronic deliverables; data entry and analysis, and working through the construction phase on the projects.
  • Plans, schedules, and conducts engineering work on projects of medium to large sizes of moderately complex nature.
  • Responsible for budget, schedule, contractual obligations and quality standards.
  • Collaborates with several other supervisors or team leaders.
  • Responsible for training and monitoring internal staff.
  • Responsible for acting independently and making authoritative decisions on technical matters.
  • Develops significant relationships with new and existing clients and has responsibility for client maintenance.
  • Supports firm's relationships with client management personnel.
  • Responsible for identifying and directing sub consultants performing services on projects.
  • Technical collaborator in proposal preparation and overall business development pursuits.
  • Active in professional associations, includingpresentation of technical papers, member of technical committee, officer of local or national organization

Qualifications

  • 10 plus years of experience in the water industry with at least five years of project management experience
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer
  • Demonstrated experience in the design and construction phase of small, medium, and large sized water and/or wastewater treatment projects with full responsibility for budget, schedule, contractual obligations and quality standards
  • Demonstrated experience in facilities planning and analysis of small, medium, and large sized water and/or wastewater treatment projects, including process modeling and selection, condition assessment, and capital improvement program (CIP) development
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and project team
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • Design and construction phase experience
  • DBIA certification
Compensation Range

$165,000 to $195,000 annually. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
