Job summary

Langan is seeking a Project Engineer/Manager - Water and Wastewater to support its growing national water practice. This role drives water strategy initiatives, due diligence, source water assessments, and discharge planning for mission-critical clients across the United States.

Responsibilities include coordinating with engineering teams, guiding regulatory compliance, and overseeing project delivery from planning through startup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental, chemical, or civil engineering; Master’s preferred.
• 6+ years in environmental field with at least 2 years as a project manager in a consulting setting.
• Professional certification or on track to obtain (e.g., PE, CHMM).
• Knowledge of water/wastewater treatment technologies and related federal/state regulations.
• Ability to manage multiple clients, projects, and staff; strong communication and detail orientation.

Responsibilities

• Support water due diligence for data center developments, including assessments and regulatory constraints.
• Develop water sourcing strategies using municipal, groundwater, surface, reclaimed, and other water resources.
• Advance wastewater discharge strategies, including NPDES permitting and water reuse planning.
• Coordinate with engineering teams on water/wastewater infrastructure, treatment systems, and conveyance requirements.
• Provide regulatory guidance on water treatment, wastewater treatment, and industrial water reuse.
• Collaborate with utilities, municipalities, regulators, and clients to navigate permitting challenges.
• Manage project delivery across scope, schedule, budget, invoicing, and change management.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across multiple offices to deliver integrated water/environmental solutions.
