Job summary

Forsgren Associates in Idaho Falls seeks a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to plan, design, and deliver municipal infrastructure projects. You will work alongside senior engineers and project managers through planning, design, construction, and startup while developing technical and project management expertise.

Responsibilities include designing facilities and pump stations, performing hydraulic analyses, preparing drawings and reports, and coordinating with clients and regulators.

Qualifications

• PE registration preferred, or ability to obtain Idaho licensure within 12 months.
• 5+ years in water and wastewater engineering, design, and project delivery.
• Knowledge of water/wastewater treatment processes and distribution systems.
• Experience with planning, design, permitting, and construction phases.
• Strong written and verbal communication and client relationship skills.
• Experience in a consulting engineering environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and support municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Perform hydraulic analyses and engineering calculations.
• Prepare reports, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Support project management: schedules, budgets, resources.
• Provide field investigations, site visits, and data collection.
• Assist with proposal development and scope definitions.
• Present findings to clients and regulators.
• Mentor junior staff and foster a collaborative team.
