A leading engineering firm is seeking a Civil/Environmental Engineer in Boca Raton, Florida. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in water, wastewater, and stormwater project design and management. Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in planning, design, and construction for water, wastewater and/or stormwater facilities.
  • Experience in project management preferred.
  • Current PE license and ability to obtain a P.E. license in Florida within six months required.
  • Experience in AutoCAD and ArcGIS preferred.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Proficient in English
  • Excellent writing and interpersonal skills, able to interact with staff, clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Self-starter with attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • B.S. degree in Environmental, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred).
  • Current PE license and ability to obtain FL PE within six months of employment (if PE from another state)

Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver municipal water, wastewater, and stormwater facilities planning and design projects.
  • Prepare assessment and design reports, perform design calculations.
  • Field work and site visits from planning through construction required.
  • Grow into a project management role.
  • Support client development and management with local office and firm-wide resources.

Job description

Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Civil/Environmental Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience to join our Boca Raton, Florida office. The candidate will be involved with a wide range of water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure projects, which can include treatment, pumping, conveyance and transmission systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • This position includes leading and delivering municipal water, wastewater, and stormwater facilities planning and design projects.
  • Task responsibilities will include project management, preparation of assessment and design reports, performing design calculations, equipment sizing/selection, preparation of construction documents, and support of construction management/commissioning needs.
  • Field work and site visits from planning through construction and commissioning will be required.
  • This position requires experience with project management or the desire to grow into a project management role.
  • The position will lead to an increasing level of client development and management commensurate with experience, supported by our local office and firm-wide technical resources.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in planning, design, and construction for water, wastewater and/or stormwater facilities
  • Proficient in all computer software typically used (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Experience in AutoCAD and ArcGIS preferred.
  • Experience in project management preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Proficient in English
  • Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills, and be capable of interacting effectively with staff, clients, and regulatory agencies.
