Job summary

JHL Constructors, Inc. seeks a Project Engineer, Water / Wastewater to support field management and the PM team on assigned projects. You’ll gather and distribute information to team members and subcontractors while assisting in safety, scheduling, QC, and closeout processes.

You will work with document control, submittals, procurement tracking, and material inventories, ensuring accurate logs and timely communications across trades.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering or minimum two years in construction.
• Water/wastewater, utility, or heavy civil project experience preferred.
• Experience verifying shop drawings and documentation for equipment and process piping.
• Experience supporting commissioning and PLC integration operations (preferred).
• Understanding of water/wastewater plant operations and construction logistics.
• OSHA 30 minimum; maintain or refresh as required.
• Attend training for operational software and seek improvement opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Oversees document control processes with PM support.
• Manages submittal and procurement tracking for process equipment and long-lead items.
• Supports piping scopes by tracking materials, deliveries, and installed quantities.
• Assist Superintendent with site safety documentation.
• Assist with developing and updating project CPM schedule.
• Assist in QC plan implementation and verify QC conformance.
• Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers with the project team.
• Oversee material procurement tracking, submittal logs, and RFI logs.
• Assist with material inventories and quantity verification by tracking delivered/installed quantities.
• Ensure full-time site coverage in mornings, evenings, and possibly weekends.
• Oversee project closeout, warranties, and owner training deliverables.
• Accurate meeting minutes distribution and note-taking.
