Job summary

Cochran seeks a Project Engineer to support planning, design, and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure across Missouri. You will work closely with Project Managers and other engineers from concept through construction.

The ideal candidate holds a Civil or Environmental Engineering degree, EI/EIT preferred (PE licensure a plus), and 3–8 years’ experience in municipal water/wastewater projects. Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
• EI/EIT certification preferred; PE license or ability to obtain licensure preferred.
• 3–8 years of experience in water/wastewater engineering or related infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist planning, design, and execution of water distribution, wastewater collection, and treatment projects.
• Prepare reports, design calculations, specifications, cost estimates, and construction documents.
• Develop drawings and models using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other design software.
• Coordinate with project managers, clients, regulators, contractors, and internal teams.
• Support project scheduling, budgeting, and delivery efforts.
• Perform field investigations, site visits, and construction observations as needed.
• Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and contractor pay applications.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and engineering standards.
• Assist with grant applications, funding programs, and permitting requirements.
• Contribute to business development through proposals and client support.
