Job summary

MWRA in Chelsea, MA is seeking an engineering professional to assist, under supervision of senior staff, in developing and managing water and sewer projects from planning through construction award. The role involves engineering analyses, document preparation, and reporting to support project milestones.

Responsibilities include managing consultant selection, overseeing contracts, reviewing submittals, and coordinating with MWRA departments and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Requires a four year college degree in civil, sanitary or environmental engineering.
  • A minimum of four years experience in water or wastewater facilities planning, design or construction is required; an equivalent combo accepted.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the management of all phases of consultant selection and supervision of professional engineering contracts, including scope of services, plans and specifications, cost estimates, schedules, and contract award recommendations.
  • Oversees consultant contracts, monitors progress, reviews invoices, and contributes to department monthly reports and CIP/CEB reports.
  • Develops work plans, feasibility studies, design reports, construction documents for water and wastewater systems and facilities.
  • Reviews consultant submittals for QA/QC and compliance with regulations and bidding laws.
  • Coordinates with MWRA departments, communities, public groups and agencies; may attend public meetings.
