Job summary

City of Hickory is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical and mechanical systems at the city's water and wastewater plants. You will supervise technicians, prioritize work orders, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

You will coordinate external vendors, obtain quotes, track time and expenses, participate in after-hours emergencies and on-call rotations, and contribute to CIP planning.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of complex electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience with maintenance and repair in utility plants.
• Valid NC driver's license or ability to obtain one.
• State-certified water or wastewater license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance staff and prioritize work orders.
• Coordinate with vendors and prepare purchase requisitions.
• Inspect jobsite activities and ensure safety compliance.
• Maintain time sheets and payroll data.
• Participate in after-hours emergencies and on-call rotations.
• Assist in employee selection and training.
• Log and track work orders and CIP projects.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and safety practices.
