Job summary

Woodard & Curran is seeking an Operations & Maintenance Technician to operate and maintain water and wastewater plants, remote pump stations, and related equipment, including meter reading and basic electrical troubleshooting. Schedule: Sunday–Thursday, 2:00pm–10:00pm, with overtime and on-call rotations for emergencies.

Qualifications include high school or vocational training in mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation maintenance; experience with municipal infrastructure; a valid IL

Qualifications

• High school or vocational training in mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation maintenance.
• Experience operating and maintaining municipal infrastructure.
• Commitment to safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to work with superiors, staff, and the public.
• Valid IL driver’s license with a safe driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs regularly.
• Ability to obtain Class D water or Class 4 wastewater license within 1 year.
• Understanding of SCADA operations.
• Knowledge of MS Teams, Outlook, Hach WIMS, Utility Cloud.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Background check, pre-placement physical and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain water and wastewater plants and remote pump stations.
• Perform meter reading and basic electrical system troubleshooting.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in on-call rotations.
• Work Sunday–Thursday evening shift, with overtime opportunities.
